Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close page 62-104
On the road again.... On the road again... : ) This adventure of Oskars is geting very interesting. He has meet so many Blacks. For those reading this blog I am not being racist I mean Blacks as in people with the last name Black because it was the only clue his father gave him after he died and the key was found. Oskar has meet so many and each one came to his play. Each not knowing they all were majorly different but they all had something in common. This is Honest Oskar. : ) My favorite person he has meet is Mr. Black. Mr. Black lives in appartment 6A in the same building as Oskar. Oskar lives right below in 5A. Mr.Black is a very strange yet amazing guy. He loves adventure yet is a hopeless romantic. He spent his whole life traveling leaving his wife at home while he goes around the world. He finally found out the only adventure he wanted was to be at home with his wife. Even after she passed he does not dodge the topic of her but takes every chance to talk about his wife. I hope to marry someone who will love me the same, forever. : ) He nails a nail into his bed every day since she passed and since he was born in 1900 and this story is set after 9-11-2001 that has to be hard for someone over 100. Maybe not maybe I am wrong but I am weak so it'd be hard for me. He is an amazing guy.

Mr. Black does sound like an amazing character. I love the fact that he wants to talk about his wife still. But I wonder, do the people around him find it annoying? Do they encourage him to stop talking about her and "move on"? Just curious--it often makes people uncomfortable to listen to someone talk about a dead loved one.

ReplyDeleteI wont lie, I agree with Scareltt94. I am more tempted to read the book. Mostly because I have just lost the timeline of the story. I am that lazy.
ReplyDeleteMr. Black is my favorite person Oskar meets too! He has such an interesting way of talking and I love how he has a card catalog of everything and everyone he knows that it important. I think all of our hearts have something like that. The idea of a physical heart is pretty sweet.
