The Rev. Heather Janules is very interesting. I am not catholic, but like the reverand I love looking at the statues in churches. I think the reverand is right. How can humans know what God wants us to do to repent for our sins? This has been a thought that has stuck with me.
I agree with the reverand we must share secrets, or they will eat us alive. Secrets are burdens and can weigh you down; stress you out. Everyone needs some way to get out secrets. I think postcards are a perfect idea.
The pictures of her visit are really cool. The old mailbox is really neat. I am not so sure how he made his mailbox "Super Size" though. He seems to have many secrets. I wonder what it feels like to know people are trusting him with that many secrets.
I think Frank Warren has created a great way to help people recieve individual therapy without worry that their secrets will be known. Someone may know the secrets but they don't know who wrote the secret. The fact that most are religous is quite interesting. I wonder why people chose that topic most.
I like the fact that this reverand does not try to hide facts but to get people to tell the whole truth. I myself no I am not always honest about all that I feel, but we should always be able to find a way to be ourselves. This includes to be accepted by others the exact way we are. We should not have to hide, or try to hide something we dislike. It will still follow us.
I completely agree with what you said about having to share secrets, even though they arent secrets after that. I dont think that all secrets are necessarily bad, like in need of a confession bad, but some could be. I never have partook in confession, so I dont really know what it's like, only what I've seen it movies. PostSecrets is a good way to help people vent and get out what's on their chest, while keeping them entirely safe. You also make an interesting point, I wonder what secrets of his own the PostSecret man has put up.
ReplyDeleteI definitely think it is a good idea to share secrets because if you look back at the article the numbers of people committing suicide and suffering from depression are decreasing and that is good. I like how post secrets makes you feel anonymous so nobody truly knows whose secret it is.
ReplyDeleteSharing secrets are definitely important and I am also curious on how he "Super-Sized" his mail box. It must be jumbo!! I think it is important that they are annoynmous, I mean what if it ended up in a book and then everyone would know! Then it would be much of a secret.
ReplyDeleteI respect very pious individuals for their loyalty and faith towrds their religion. I also respect people spilling their secrets because of their honesty and well.... they've got guts!!!
