Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Oskar is still hunting to find where the key goes.  He is now up to lie thirty five.  I would probably lost count by then.  I do not understand how he remembers everything.  All the promises he makes because he lied.  I do not know if he will follow through with them.  It seems he has a constant guilty conscious.  He may not be religious but he has enough pride and guilt for doing bad things he could be.  I really started to laugh when he said VJ.  He keeps his mindset the same and now he shows this woman that he constantly changes subjects and says and does random things.  The dust on the microwave brings Oskar back to thinking about the grain of sand.  I think this thought will be even more continuous throughout the book.  He seems very persistent and I hope that continues throughout the book too.

  2. Oskar is up to lie 35, as in since he has started counting his lies when his dad died, he has lied 35 times. I think that Oskar can do all of this stuff because he is probably super gifted in some things, but is probably lackin in other things, which is usually what happens.

  3. Oskar is very persistent. He has his talents and skills, but at the same time he's bad at others (like everybody else). Also, since you say he changes subjects, it makes me think that he has issues with focusing.
